Far too often, things are thrown away far too quickly.
Whether the toaster isn’t working, the radio is crackling, the vacuum cleaner has given out, or the floor lamp won’t turn on—often all it takes is a quick fix.
Every third Saturday of the month from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
the Ehrenfeld Repair Café takes place in the small hall of the Community Center, Venloer Straße 429, 50825 Cologne.
At Repair Cafés, volunteer repairers help visitors fix their broken household appliances.
The support ranges from “We provide (specialized) tools and offer tips” to “You describe the problem and then watch with interest as we repair the appliance.”
This way, in a friendly atmosphere, the lifespan of everyday items is extended, waste is avoided, and everyone learns something new.
The assistance is free / donation-based; only replacement parts need to be paid for.
The repair volunteers work on a voluntary basis and appreciate a contribution toward tools or the annual Christmas dinner.
