Akkordeon Orchester Bayer Leverkusen zu Gast in der Immanuelkirche

The Bayer Leverkusen Accordion Orchestra will perform on December 13 at 5 p.m. in the Immanuel Church in Cologne Stammheim (Bonhoeffer Str. 10).

The orchestra of around 30 musicians can look back on international success, most recently with a third place at the World Music Festival 2025 in Innsbruck and the sixth top award in a row.

Under the direction of Monika Schneider, the program spans an impressive musical spectrum from baroque and classical literature to powerful and emotional works from the Romantic and modern eras. The program includes "Also sprach Zarathustra" by Richard Strauss with impressive organ accompaniment, the "Fantasia on Greensleeves" by Ralph Vaughan Williams and the festive "Prélude" from Edvard Grieg's Holberg Suite.

With works such as the "Serenade in E major" by Antonín Dvořák, "Sanctuary of the Heart" by Albert Ketèlbey and "Asturias" from the Suite Española by Isaac Albéniz, the orchestra demonstrates the full range of its tonal expression.

The program is complemented by an ensemble that adds further musical highlights with excerpts from William Boyce's "Symphony No. 1" and a movement from Johann Sebastian Bach's "Brandenburg Concerto No. 3".
