The Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra (AMEO) is now regarded as one of the most distinctive and idiosyncratic large ensembles on the international scene. After four acclaimed albums and well over 200 concerts in 25 countries on four continents, it is currently a twelve-piece group that can expand flexibly. It mainly plays compositions by founder Daniel Glatzel, which constantly overcome and expand musical boundaries. AMEO draws from a colorful spectrum of jazz, classical, avant-garde, independent and electronica.
Part of his current program was created especially for an audiovisual show at Berghain. There have also been concerts in the large halls of the Berlin, Cologne and Elbphilharmonie concert halls, at the Roskilde Festival, NDR - das neue Werk, Zurich Festival and many more. In 2021, AMEO was the first large ensemble to be honored with the German Jazz Award. In 2024, it was nominated for "Ensemble of the Year".
