Question to Radio Yerevan: "Do you know Armenian cuisine?" Radio Yerevan answers: "In principle, yes, but I've never tried it." Cookbook author Zara would like to give a quick-witted answer to this question in her cooking course on Armenian cuisine. In this course, you can discover the multifaceted, millennia-old Armenian cuisine, which the German-Armenian gives a modern, predominantly vegetarian twist.
Menu:
- Minced meat with apricots and apples
- Green beans with egg served with yoghurt, garlic sauce and bulgur
- Fried zucchinis with dill
- Fried eggplants with pomegranate
- "Yerevan" salad with tomato, cucumber and herbs
- Gata - the Armenian round cake
- and as a nightcap: Armenian brandy

Zara Safaryan
Zara Safaryan, a German-Armenian who has lived in Berlin for 20 years, has written a special cookbook with Armenian dishes from her childhood in Yerevan. The country of Armenia, which has become a new and exciting cultural and historical destination for Western Europeans in recent years, is also interesting for its culinary heritage. Zara studied German language and literature at the Yerevan State University and then at the FU Berlin. She currently lives in Berlin and is co-founder of the publishing house Casanomade.
