Äsop - Die Macht der Sprache

Between ancient examples and contemporary resistance, we seek the essence of freedom. Aesop, both a slave and a sage, shows us that true autonomy begins within. His weapon is the fable; his goal—unbending dignity.

The plot follows the pivotal moments in Aesop’s life. Although he lives in bondage as a slave, through his cleverness, humor, and fables, he attains a spiritual and moral superiority that both provokes and fascinates his owners. When he is formally granted his freedom, Aesop questions the nature of this act—for can freedom truly be given as a gift if human beings are, at their core, born free?

Confronted with a false accusation, Aesop refuses to return to a new form of moral slavery through flight or submission. Amid the raging conflict over truth, betrayal, and deceit, Aesop must find his own radical path to self-determination—a decision that continues to resonate to this day.
