Colloquium for Everyone

Violence is disproportionately perpetrated by men. In this colloquium, we will discuss various discourses and practices that awareness practitioners develop when addressing masculinity and male violence. In doing so, we will also examine the tensions between the demand for political transformation and the logic of professional service provision.

We will then examine whether the strategic ambivalence that emerges has an emancipatory effect or rather contributes to a creeping depoliticization of critiques of masculinity.

About the “Colloquium for All” Format

A colloquium is an open format for scholarly exchange. With the “Colloquium for All,” Assoziation:E aims to make scholarly debates accessible to a broader public and to discuss issues that have societal relevance beyond the academic context.

The individual program items are prepared in interdisciplinary research workshops.
