notsopretty goes for a swim: Between the swimming pool, the sunbathing lawn, and outdoor pool fries, an audio walk about summer, longing, and social inequality unfolds under the open sky. The pool becomes the stage for a conflict: luxury meets scarcity, isolation meets community, abundance meets depletion. 

A mix of humor, pop, and a chlorine-tinged indictment. “The Rise and Fall of the Swimming Pool” weaves nostalgic childhood memories with fantasies of having one’s own pool and asks who can afford relaxation and who is left high and dry.

Put on your headphones and join us for a walk through the outdoor pool. The event will take place rain or shine. Please wear appropriate shoes and clothing. You can leave your swimwear at home.

From Dortmund Central Station, take the S-Bahn S2 to DO-Wischlingen
From downtown Dortmund, you can alsotake the U44 to Dortmund, Wittener Straße, and from there continue on buses 447 or 465 toward Dortmund Huckarde, Bushof
From Bochum Central Station, take the S-Bahn S1 to DO-Dorstfeld, and from there take bus 447 or 465 toward Dortmund Huckarde, Bushof

When you arrive at the Dortmund-Wischlingen S-Bahn stop, turn right and go down the stairs. Once you reach the bottom, you’ll be on Höfkerstraße; turn right onto this street and then walk straight ahead for about 200 meters. Then turn right again and enter the Revierpark grounds. The parking lot is on your left; continue straight ahead and pass the ice rink, which will be on your right. 

Continue along the path and turn left behind the ice rink. A small path will lead you to the entrance gate of the outdoor pool, where admission and headphone distribution take place.
