Ausfahrt

The music of Ausfahrt stems from the experiences of guitarist and composer
composer Christina Zurhausen. Her catchy songs describe the rough everyday life of her home, the post-industrial Ruhr area. Various elements merge to form an attitude to life, the most important of which include the grunge rock aesthetic of the 90s and the improvisational energy of modern jazz. It's about love and conflict, but also about philosophical thoughts: what holds the world together at its core?
The well-rehearsed quartet from Cologne consists of Yaroslav Likhachev on saxophone with his expressive and virtuoso lines, Torben Schug on bass with his clear tone and straight riffs and Ramon Keck on drums, the soulful and playful rhythm supplier. The band is led by Christina Zurhausen, who with her unmistakable playing skillfully switches between
thoughtful lines and exuberant sounds.
Founded in 2015, the band Ausfahrt knows how to express moods of elegy and fervor, and their improvisations reflect the spectrum between plaintive world-weariness, tearing rage and conciliatory sounds. Whether in belligerent riffs, playful beats or emotional solos - Zurhausen's music
is interpreted with a punk attitude and virtuoso joy of playing in a direct and unadorned way.
