Francesco Bearzatti Trio

Francesco Bearzatti is currently one of Italy's most internationally influential jazz musicians. With the same radicalism of the free jazz of the 1960s in New York and Chicago, he and his trio take apart the popular music of the Italian and German 1950s. They not only deconstruct songs by Morricone or Nina Hagen, but also works by great European composers such as Verdi and Wagner. The harmonic and rhythmic frameworks are broken up, rethought and then deliberately only roughly patched up again. Open collective playing styles create space for great emotional freedom.
