We invite you to the second away reading of the summer semester - from now on at the wonderful OYA MÜLLEM!

One evening, four authors: The away readings bring texts by students of the Academy of Media Arts Cologne and their guests to the city. The moderators are: Theresa Gutmann and Marie Menke.

Marie Foulis (*1993) studied law in Cologne and Paris. She co-founded the Schreibwerkstatt Köln in 2017. As a literary organizer and moderator, she oversees various literary formats, including the MIT ANDEREN WORTEN reading series and an annual writing retreat. Her prose appears in various literary magazines. She will be reading from "Pure Kinetics", a story about wrestling, tenderness, family curses and so-called opportunities.

Ronja Sandtner feels at home between words. That's why she likes to read, whether in bed, in the park, on the train - sometimes she also reads aloud, self-written, on stage. She studied theater, then literature. At the KHM, she is now continuing her search for friendship, kinship and companionship - and literary forms for these companionships.

Jolie Zhilei Zhou (born in Canton, China) is a Cologne-based artist whose practice encompasses photography and writing and operates at the intersections of everyday life, ideology and embodied perception. By juxtaposing the two elements, she exposes the ideologies in which we live. She completed an Honours B.A. in Visual Studies and Cinema Studies at the University of Toronto (2017) and is currently studying in the postgraduate program at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne.

Paula Schneider was born in Cologne and now lives in Frankfurt am Main and Cologne. She studied book art at Burg Giebichenstein in Halle/Saale. Her work always begins with text and culminates in books, audio pieces or spatial installations. She has been studying literary writing at the KHM in Cologne since 2023.
