BABE HAVEN
The queer punk band Babe Haven blends their sound with a Riot Grrrl ethos and a crushing thrash metal edge. Their songs are anthems of self-empowerment and resistance, marked by raw aggression and energy. Always with the goal of amplifying the voices of women, queer people, and BIPOC individuals, Babe Haven turns every concert into a space of radical inclusion and collective catharsis.
The band is increasingly establishing itself as a fixture of the modern punk scene, and their shows have been selling out in many venues for some time now. They’ve shared the stage with acts such as Mannequin Pussy, Otoboke Beaver, Soft Play, Teen Mortgage, Pinkshift, and Pollyanna. In addition, the band has performed at renowned festivals, including L7’s Fast and Frightening Takeover, Punk Rock Bowling, and Jorts Fest.
Their second album, *Nuisance*, showcases a bold evolution of their sound: nu metal, thrash, and punk fuse into an intense, genre-bending statement that solidifies their status as one of the most exciting and important emerging voices in modern punk.
LATTER
Latter is a Chicago-based noise-rock project founded somewhat by chance in 2022 by Philadelphia-native sound artist Meredith Haines and drummer Jonathan Alvarado. After a decade in Philadelphia’s DIY scene, Haines had completely withdrawn from music—burned out and in the process of building a new life for herself as a sound artist and college counselor.
A chance encounter with Alvarado led to weekly jam sessions that quickly evolved into a raw and extraordinary collaboration. Influenced by Haines’ background in sound art and modern dance, the band’s performances blur the lines between noise rock, performance art, and sound art, transcending any single genre through an explosive blend of tension and vulnerability.
