High-quality classical music and a radiant glow of light: on Saturday, January 30, 2027 at 5 p.m., the Kreuzkirche Dresden invites you to a festive Vespers of Light for Candlemas. In the special atmosphere of this evening, visitors will find a place of peace and inner contemplation. The program is dedicated to Johann Kuhnau, whose Magnificat in C major and the cantata "Mein Alter kömmt, ich kann nicht sterben" are brilliant examples of baroque classical music and provide a profound experience.

Under the direction of organist Holger Gehring, the Capella Sanctae Crucis Dresden will perform together with soloists Heidi Maria Taubert, Dorothea Wagner, Stefan Kunath, Sören Richter and Clemens Heidrich. This first-class live music on historical instruments provides moments of contemplation. The highlight is the spreading of the peace light, which transforms the church into a sea of light and creates a strong sense of community - an unforgettable moment of fine classical music.
