Following three successful editions in 2023, 2024, and 2025,Between Bookswill return to the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf from September 11 to 13, 2026!

Independent art book publishers, artists, independent publishing/DIY collectives, organizations, associations, zines, and magazines will showcase their work to a broad audience in the exhibition spaces of the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, demonstrating just how versatile, exciting, and contemporary the medium of the book can be.

The focus is on the local and regional publishing scene, but key figures from all over Germany and beyond will also be represented. 

The art book fair will be accompanied by an exciting and interactive supporting program featuring workshops, performances, talks, and lectures. 

“Between Books”is both a meeting place for discourse on (art) books, alternative forms of publication, and publishing as a practice, as well as a space for discovery, browsing, and getting to know one another. 

The open call is now closed, and we will send out our responses in early June.
