Biita Houdei

Biita Houdei, formerly known as LéPonds, is a unique voice in experimental folk music. Houdei has released four independently produced albums and has toured nationwide with artists such as Jeff Tweedy and her longtime musical collaborator Haley Heynderickx.

Today she lives in Woodstock, New York, and returns with her most powerful work to date: “This Bed Was Made For Me” —a full-length album produced by Heynderickx and featuring contributions from Buck Meek and José Medeles.

On “This Bed Was Made For Me,” Houdei’s Persian heritage intertwines with her experiences as an American, creating a multi-layered, emotionally compelling album. It is deeply rooted in tradition yet never confined by it—a fearless work that weaves together joy and sorrow, ritual and rupture, giving rise to something entirely its own.
