Blues Caravan

For the German label Ruf Records, one milestone follows another. Just recently, the company celebrated its 30th anniversary as a renowned international blues label. Now, in 2026, Ruf Records’ popular live revue “Blues Caravan” is hitting the road for the 20th time. The list of artists who have been part of the Caravan’s history includes many of today’s most celebrated blues musicians—among them Ana Popovic, Samantha Fish, Aynsley Lister, and Joanne Shaw Taylor, to name just a few. The trio of headliners following in their footsteps on the anniversary tour embodies an exciting blend of experience, deep emotion, and youthful energy.

California native Laura Chavez is undoubtedly the most experienced musician in this lineup. As an exceptionally talented guitarist, she was for years the musical driving force behind the band of the late singer Candye Kane (Blues Caravan 2005 & 2008). She has also played countless concerts with Nikki Hill, Vanessa Collier, and rock ’n’ roll legend Mitch Ryder. Chavez knows how to thrill the audience with her absolutely confident rhythm guitar and explosive electric guitar solos. She cemented her reputation as one of the best in the blues scene in 2023 when she became the first woman ever to win the Blues Music Award in the “Best Instrumentalist – Guitar” category.

Matthew Curry is considered a true insider’s tip among connoisseurs of the blues and rock scene. The American has been performing on North American stages for over a decade, thrilling audiences with his distinctive sound that blends blues, rock, and Americana. He has shared the stage with greats such as Peter Frampton, the Steve Miller Band, the Doobie Brothers, and Blackberry Smoke.

French singer, songwriter, and guitarist Elise Frank may no longer be a complete newcomer, but she is still a young artist to watch. Since 2021, she has been fronting her own electric blues and rock band “FRANK” and has already performed at major European music festivals, such as the Cognac Blues Passions Festival in France and the Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival. She is sure to make a splash on the Blues Caravan tour. Even after 20 years and hundreds of concerts, the “Blues Caravan” format has remained unchanged: Each of the three headliners plays a full live set, and to close out the evening, all three join together on stage for an energetic jam session.
