Britton-René Collins - shooting star of US percussion - brings the marimba directly to the altar of the Neustädter Hof- und Stadtkirche: physical, vibrant, immediate.

With pieces by Joseph Schwantner, Toshio Hosokawa and more recent contemporary voices, a panorama of the marimba unfolds over several decades. Different aesthetic approaches enter into dialog - from structural clarity to tonal fragility.

Britton-René Collins belongs to a new generation of percussionists who not only play their instrument, but embody it. She stands for precision, energy and a strong physical presence - palpable in the room.

And this space is special: she plays directly in front of the altar of the baroque church. Architecture becomes a counterpart, resonance becomes a co-player.
