Buchpremiere: Heute bin ich ein Horizont – Illustrierte Lyrik aus Brasilien
In the organizer's words:
Reading & Discussion with Leonardo Tonus and Lilli-Hannah Hoepner
Small illustration exhibition (including surprise guests)
Moderator: Martin Pflanzer
You are cordially invited to a literary journey to Brazil! Editor Leonardo Tonus, translator Lilli-Hannah Hoepner, and publisher Martin Pflanzer present the newly released poetry anthology “Heute bin ich ein Horizont / Hoje sou um horizonte.” It features poems by eleven Brazilian authors, whose work has been translated into German for the first time. The reading will be accompanied visually by illustrations from the book, some of which will also be on display in a small exhibition.
About the book: The anthology “Heute bin ich ein Horizont / Hoje sou um horizonte” invites readers to traverse a multifaceted horizon: that of contemporary Brazilian poetry, that of hospitality between languages and cultures, and that of the imagination, which—like the horizon itself—constantly opens up beyond what we are able to see. In their poems, the eleven authors reflect Brazil’s literary, cultural, and ethnic diversity. Their poetry has been translated into German for the first time and is also included in the original language. All poems are individually illustrated—by a total of 21 illustrators. © Image: Hagebutte Verlag
