What happens when the world falls apart but life must go on? Iryna Fingerova, born and raised in Odessa, lives and works as a doctor and author in Germany. In "Zugwind" (Rowohlt // Engl. by Jakob Walosczyk), the practice of a young Ukrainian doctor in Germany becomes a point of contact for all those in search of comfort, healing and compassion.

Munich-based illustrator Jutta Pilgram tells the story of a German-Egyptian friendship in her graphic novel "Glaub mir" (Jaja Verlag). Freedom, she shows, begins where faith stops causing fear.

Where does everyday life end? When does the madness begin? Husband, daughter, house, running ducks - Wally has everything under control. Until one day she collapses. The Viennese author Cornelia Travnicek writes about a life with neurodivergence - sophisticated, disarmingly honest and very, very funny ("Ich erzähle von meinen Beinen", Picus Verlag).
