Cage & Band Day 1
In the organizer's words:
Cage is bringing her new band this summer! You can catch two kickoff concerts at the now-air-conditioned Salon De Jazz! Since this band is sure to blow you away, we’re not even going to set up any chairs!
Cage’s voice is no longer just an insider’s tip on the Cologne music scene. With her warm, velvety tone, the musician exudes a kind of authenticity that’s hard to find these days. While the singer evokes the soulful voices of the last century, she also manages to point the way toward the future with her presence and music: Since 2020, she has released eight original tracks and can also be heard as a featured guest on numerous works by her colleagues—though thinking in terms of genre boundaries doesn’t fit with how Cage understands and makes music.
In a profile, *Rolling Stone* compares Cage’s voice to that of the international, multiple Grammy Award-winning artist Beyoncé. “She’s blessed with a great soul voice, but she likes to explore different genres in her songs.” 1 Live, Simone Sohn A passion for music has always been a part of Cage’s life, but she didn’t pursue a professional career as a singer until after completing her studies in media informatics. One reason for this was that she didn’t want to see her love for music destroyed by the grim reality of the music industry.
Nevertheless, the exhilarating feeling of being on stage, singing for people, and making music never left her, which is why she decided to continue dedicating herself to her solo project.
Attending a Cage concert is an emotionally embracing experience that you shouldn’t miss.
In her own words: “Ever since I fell in love with making music—knowing that I would eventually commit myself to it—I’ve carried a clear passion and emotional connection with me my whole life. When I finally had the strength to try to make a living from my music, I had to grapple with various experiences in the music industry. I had to protect my little treasure—my childlike curiosity. People wanted me to be someone else, but my greatest asset is authentic art.”
Cage has already performed at a wide variety of festivals, including Carolin Kebekus’s DCKS Festival, Splash Festival, Parookaville Festival, and a TEDx event.
CTO is a pianist and producer from Cologne. His extensive musical activities have already taken him all over the world. His encounters with musicians from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds and stylistic orientations have already resulted in many exciting concerts and releases!
