Fanfare van de Eerste Liefdesnacht
In the organizer's words:
... is a colorful and socially engaged street orchestra in Amsterdam. For over forty years, we’ve been turning everything upside down with our music, everywhere we go. In the Netherlands and (far) beyond its borders. With our roughly twenty brass players and four percussionists, we’re a welcome guest at parties, theater festivals, and demonstrations for a better world. The Fanfare has performed at festivals and events from Brittany to Slovenia, from Cuba to Turkey, from climate action protests at Schiphol Airport to demonstrations in the occupied Palestinian West Bank. We perform our original or adapted repertoire on stage. This includes pop, jazz, swing, soul, and world music—from Arabic grooves to Polish folk songs.
After a short concert at Ebertplatz, we’ll be performing at Agneskirche at 3 p.m. and at the Alte Feuerwache at 4 p.m. Free admission; we’ll pass the hat.
