Ceramic Circus

The spectacle unfolds to the beat of a drum roll. A bicycle that defies all conventions. A glittering hit on roller skates. Plates dancing on the thinnest of rods. A spinning ceramic ball in the center of the room brings calm amid this sensory overload—only to reignite the momentum. The overlooked becomes powerful; the fragile becomes strength.

Swiss artist Julian Vogel, trained at the Academy for Circus and Performance Art in Tilburg (NL), is a circus artist, performer, craftsman, and inventor all in one; with “Ceramic Circus,” he creates his own breathtaking circus—pure, simple, clear, and yet daring and dazzling.

His production has now been selected for the Swiss Theater Festival 2026 for the first time. It is an invitation to the audience to look closely, to question the obvious, and to transform the ordinary into something magical.
