With "Second Encounter", Cologne-based composer and keyboardist Christian Frentzen presents a remarkable second album whose ten compositions are testimony to his consistent artistic development. Unimpressed by pigeonholing, Frentzen frees himself from any stylistic constraints and gives free rein to his multi-layered influences and inspirations. This proves that he is definitely one of the most creative minds on the German jazz scene. In addition to his solo projects and regular appearances with Till Brönner, Max Mutzke and Teddy Teclebrhan, he is a sought-after sideman and producer who manages to combine different worlds with stylistic confidence. His new album "Second Encounter" demonstrates this impressively.

The singer Fola Dada will be there as a special guest. As an award-winning singer (German Jazz Award 2022), she is not only at home in jazz and pop. She has performed with many top-class ensembles, including the SWR Big Band and Helmut Hattler. She also teaches at several universities, including as a professor of jazz singing in Mannheim.
