Comedy-Workshop Schreiben + Präsentation
In the organizer's words:
"A great workshop! In a very pleasant and professional working atmosphere, I learned a lot and had a great time. Under Manuel’s experienced guidance, we worked on specific routines in a hands-on way, and I was able to take away some really concrete improvements and joke ideas for my act—I highly recommend it!" (Frank, actor and theater owner)
"Thanks, that was really great" (Bernhard, improv theater performer)
"I thought the seminar was excellent. You’re a great coach. Especially how open and attentive you are, how you address each person individually, how you always have great ideas for improvement, and how you make people feel at ease—that’s worth a lot!" (Katja, WDR editor)
Our comedy workshops take place in small groups (maximum of 12 participants) in a large rehearsal space in the heart of Ehrenfeld.

Comedy Workshop: Writing and Presentation
This workshop is designed for beginners with little to no stage experience, as well as advanced participants who have performed on stage frequently but are still searching for that “certain something.”
Day 1: Writing Workshop
Please bring a comedy routine of your own. Maximum length: 5 minutes (1 A4 sheet) or less. If you’ve never been on stage before, no problem: Just write—let your ideas run wild! We’ll then go through all the routines together, give you space to revise them, discuss the “BOING! philosophy,” offer tips, suggestions, and support, and lead various writing and creative exercises to help you get the most out of your ideas.
Day 2: Presentation Workshop
Now it’s time to present your act in front of the others for the first time. We’ll work on everything that’s important for delivering your material in the best possible way. We’ll try to get the most out of your act and figure out how you can come across as interesting, authentic, genuine, and—above all—funny on stage.
After the workshop, we’ll help you get booked for an open mic performance. Even after the workshop, workshop leader Manuel Wolff can assist you with any questions via email or provide guidance and support during one-on-one coaching sessions (which can be booked separately).
Workshop Details:
Date: Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to approximately 5 p.m. each day (including a 1-hour lunch break)—attendance on both days is mandatory!
Location: Studio 11, Gravenreuthstraße 11, 50823 Cologne
Cost: €299 (early bird €249 / late registrant €349)
What to bring: Script, notepad, pen.
PLEASE NOTE: After registering, please send an email directly to mail@comedyworkshops.de with your name, phone number, previous comedy experience, etc.—this is our first point of contact!
About the workshop leader:
Manuel Wolff is the founder of the BOING! Comedy Club and has been a professional stand-up comedian for 20 years. He has performed at the Quatsch Comedy Club, on NightWash, at the Komische Nacht, on AIDA, Mein Schiff, and Traumschiff, and is currently presenting his new show at the Variete et cetera in Bochum. He has won 7 cabaret awards and tours throughout Germany with his solo act and in mixed-genre shows. He also performs internationally, for example in Amsterdam, Brussels, and London. He gave a TEDx talk on comedy (“Creating World Peace One Laugh at a Time”—available on YouTube) and knows all the tricks of the trade—his musical training and many years of experience in improvisational theater further help him with timing, spontaneity, and handling complex situations.
About the BOING! Comedy Club:
For over 14 years, BOING! has stood for first-class, genuine, honest, authentic, and interesting stand-up comedy, for discovering new talent, nurturing up-and-coming artists, and putting on great shows. Audiences and artists alike rave about BOING!, where true stand-up art means seeing personalities on stage—not interchangeable jokes from a joke book.
