” Community Dance Workshops for Everyone Ages 16 and Up

Dance together, try new things, and meet people:
With “LIFE tanzt,” LIFE HAMBURG is launching an open community dance series for everyone aged 16 and older.

In cooperation with sense the steps e.V., we’re creating a space for movement, creativity, and connection— regardless of dance experience, background, language, or physical ability.

Community Dance means: Everyone can join in. The focus isn’t on performance or perfection, but on the joy of movement, shared experiences, and discovering new ways to express yourself.

What makes LIFE tanzt special is that every workshop opens up a new gateway to the world of dance. Each session focuses on a different dance style. From contemporary dance to house, jazz, improvisation, ballet fusion, folklore, dancehall, and other dance forms—you’ll have the chance to keep discovering something new and try out different ways of moving and expressing yourself. This creates a diverse dance series that sparks curiosity and invites you to think outside the box.

The workshops are led by experienced dance educators, dancers, choreographers, and dance instructors. In addition to the network of sense the steps e.V., other artists also contribute their perspectives, experiences, and dance styles to the series. This results in a varied program with many different artistic and cultural influences.

The focus is on bringing different people together. Dance becomes a shared experience and builds connections across social, cultural, and linguistic boundaries.


LIFE tanzt is open to people with and without dance experience. You can join at any time. If you’re curious and feel like moving, you’re warmly welcome.

The event spaces at LIFE HAMBURG are accessible. If you have any special needs, please contact us briefly in advance.

Participation
Open to anyone 16 years of age or older.
Registration is encouraged so we can plan better. However, walk-ins are also welcome.

Participation is free in 2026. To help us prepare the workshops well and enable as many people as possible to participate, we ask that you make your registration as firm as possible or let us know briefly if something comes up.

Anyone who wishes to do so can support the program with a voluntary donation.


We are currently testing this format. Participation is free in 2026. Starting in 2027, a small participation fee may be charged, if necessary, to ensure the program’s long-term sustainability.

At LIFE tanzt, we want to highlight the diversity of dance and welcome people who’d like to share their enthusiasm for a particular dance style with others. We’re especially interested in different dance forms from various regions and countries around the world—from traditional dances to contemporary movement styles.
