In the organizer's words:
LIFE Sings – Voice. Rhythm. Community.
Community Singing for Adults and Teens – Open Singing Sessions
Sing together, leave everyday life behind, and discover the power of your own voice:
Starting in August, “LIFE Sings” will launch an open community singing series for adults. In cooperation with the Balthasar-Neumann-Chor und -Ensemble e.V., LIFE HAMBURG invites people to experience the joy of making music together—regardless of prior knowledge or musical experience.
Under the direction of Andreas Küppers— conductor, choir director, musician, music educator, teacher, and member of the Balthasar-Neumann Orchestra—people with and without choir experience can meet once or twice a month to sing together. The focus is not on performance or perfection, but on joy, connection, and the shared experience of sound.
The workshops combine voice, rhythm, and movement. Through simple exercises in body percussion, groove, breathing, and sound, participants can discover their musical potential and experience how many individual voices come together to create a shared sound. In each session, one or two songs are also rehearsed and sung together.
LIFE sings is not a formal choir. Anyone can join. Anyone who enjoys singing or wants to rediscover their voice is warmly welcome.
In addition to the regular workshops, special events, social gatherings, and SPECIAL projects with the Balthasar Neumann Choir and the Balthasar Neumann Orchestra are planned. The first SPECIAL project is “Auf dem Weg der Rose” (On the Path of the Rose). More information below.
In addition, opportunities may arise to incorporate the songs we’ve worked on or our musical experiences into other projects by LIFE HAMBURG and its partner organizations.
