Nähen, Upcycling, Umgestalten: Aus Alt mach Neu!
In the organizer's words:
In this upcycling class, you’ll turn existing textiles into new favorite pieces. Clothing that no longer fits, is no longer worn, or needs a new look can be altered, adjusted, combined, or repaired.
The course teaches basic sewing techniques—both by hand and on a sewing machine —and applies them directly to your own garments. The goal isn’t to sew everything from scratch, but to work with what you already have. Often, just a few simple steps are all it takes to reimagine a garment—for example, turning a dress into a skirt and a top.
No prior experience is required. Participants (ages 16 and up) should bring their own garments or textiles to work on.
The course is led by Katja Ellwart-Radeke, founder of the textile upcycling label “homie.” Katja has been offering upcycling and sewing courses for various age groups for many years and teaches sustainable design in a practical, accessible, and creative way.
