CONNY + LISER

Longing is probably the oldest motif in CONNY'slyrics: whether it is a longing for distant lands and new adventures or the longing for a love that outlasts the moment of the first kiss - CONNY's voice always resonates with a sadness that conveys to the listener the image of a thoughtful and at times lonely character. Since he has been on the road as a solo artist, his music has become much more serious. As an avowed feminist, CONNY's lyrics deal with gender roles, masculinity, criticism of capitalism and life in a system built on all these pillars. In doing so, he speaks both as an outside observer and denounces, but often also purposefully chooses a very personal and private perspective and lets listeners share in his feelings.

LISER creates feminist bangers and sensitive songs that sometimes get under your skin - or directly in your face. "My music is political, but not by choice" is how the Cologne-based artist describes her output - she would much rather be able to do without dealing with painful topics such as hostility on the Internet, sexism or fat-shaming. However, her personal experiences make this impossible. So the 24-year-old defies all conventions and expectations and creates empowering, angry and powerful mantras with her music. As an accomplished battle rapper and experimental musician, she creates an exciting mixture of unerring punchlines and innovative sounds between rap, punk, pop and electronic gimmicks. First songs of LISER appear in 2017, two years later she already releases three EPs in just one year. In 2020, LISER releases her song "Krank", with which she attracts the attention of a larger audience and also media. In the same year, she builds on this success with her debut album "Songs über Jungs". Authentic and humorous, she deals with toxic dudes, sexuality and relationships. After that, it was clear to her: From now on, no more "songs about boys. Her "Anti-Capitalist Party Banger" EP, released on March 4, 2022, instead provides the soundtrack for dancing through the night far away from neoliberal narratives. Her previous discography thus also predicts for the future: you can always expect something new from this musician. This is especially true for 2023.
