The design of the Schaumagazins is based on the presentation of animal specimens in the 19th century, when the exhibits were grouped together as teaching collections for scientists and students to view in large display cases. Discover the beauty and diversity of the animal world with hundreds of mostly historical objects!
The foam magazine has over 500 specimens that were previously hidden from visitors and stored in the museum's depots due to a lack of space. Ceiling-high glass cabinets, dimmed lighting and effective mirroring at the back of the foam magazine offer visitors an impressive spatial experience and illuminate lions, parrots, pangolins and the like with atmospheric light. Two informative media stations with large touchscreens in the middle of the room provide background information on the exhibits from the groups of mammals, birds, insects and other species. Be enchanted by lifelike-looking specimens of exotic animals from all over the world!
