With a soft creak, an old circus wagon rolls into the light. It hums, purrs, and jingles—until a wall swings open, revealing a figure: dark, flamboyant, mysterious. It is him. He is her. It is: The Fabulous Die. The centerpiece of a troupe of traveling performers who roam the land, collecting stories and now presenting them—about being the same, about being different. Curtain up for the duck who feels like a swan, Bärbel the perch, and the strongest man in the world with a penchant for blonde curly wigs.

In his play, Sergej Gößner turns binary gender identity on its head, creating a world of carnival and revue—and, naturally, writes in rhyme.
