In the fictional Dutch village of Huisum, the village judge Adam is surprised by a visit from Court Councilor Walter, who has been sent to assess the village’s judicial system. On this very day, a case is being heard concerning a jug that was broken the previous evening in connection with an unauthorized visit to the young Eve. The plaintiff, Eve’s mother, accuses Eve’s fiancé Ruprecht, but who is the culprit? And what happened to the broken jug? And why does Judge Adam limp?

The production of *The Broken Jug* is being staged by the established, professional ensemble of Szene 10, which has previously staged Friedrich Dürrenmatt’s *The Physicists*.
