der/gelbe/klang: carte jaune! Enno Poppe / Werkeinführung um 19 Uhr

In the organizer's words:

As part of the "carte jaune!" format, der/gelbe/klang regularly hands over the musical helm - and invites outstanding artists to curate a program for the regular line-up. The idea behind this is simple: artistic freedom, new perspectives and a fresh look at the ensemble and its sonic potential.

In Enno Poppe, the ensemble welcomes one of the most influential figures on the contemporary music scene. As a composer and conductor, Poppe has played a decisive role in shaping musical life over the last two decades. His works are characterized by tonal sophistication, structural curiosity and an extraordinary sensitivity for instrumental micro-gestures.
For "carte jaune!", Enno Poppe has designed a program that reflects both his personal signature and his aesthetic openness. At the center is his own work Laub - a multi-layered, breathing sound sculpture in which sonic ramifications and distortions spread out as if organically.
This is contrasted by two extraordinary positions in contemporary music: early life by Hector Parra is a piece that deals with the emergence of life - biologically, philosophically and musically. Parra's musical language is both expressive and finely chiseled, full of energy and dynamic changes.
With luna/lithe/laire, Irish composer Ann Cleare presents a work that oscillates between light and shadow, clarity and disappearance. Her music explores the edges of the audible - with a poetic intensity that defies easy categorization.
An evening that sharpens the ear, stimulates the mind - and opens up new sonic spaces.

Program:
Héctor Parra: early life (2010), for oboe, piano, violin, viola and violoncello
Ann Cleare: luna/lithe/lair (2014/2019) for nonet
Enno Poppe: Laub (2023), for flute, oboe, clarinet, piano, violin, viola and violoncello
