A detective trail is a puzzle adventure for the whole family: Armed with a treasure map and a pen, you’ll follow a secret trail through the city, solve puzzles together, and get closer and closer to solving an exciting case.
On the Augsburg Detective Trail: Save the Water City!, Detective Dachs urgently needs your help. In Augsburg, the water usually flows crystal-clear through streams, canals, and fountains—but suddenly, poison-green foam bubbles are floating in it! What on earth has happened here? That’s exactly what you’re supposed to find out.
So grab your treasure map and let the investigation begin! The trail leads you through Augsburg’s Old Town, often along the water and to surprising places. Along the way, you’ll encounter waterwheels, fountains, and even a small hydroelectric power plant right in the middle of the city. But there isn’t always much time to marvel: new puzzles are already waiting for you to solve them! Along the way, you’ll discover why water has been so important to Augsburg for centuries and why the city’s historic water management system is now even a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Did you pay close attention and solve all the puzzles? Then piece together the clues and crack the secret code. As a reward, a real treasure chest awaits successful sleuths at the end.
The Detective Trail is perfect for families with children ages six and up who want to experience Augsburg outdoors, in a playful way, and with plenty of puzzle fun.
