In the organizer's words:
Since the investigation into the NSU complex, the entry of the AfD into state and federal parliaments, the attacks in Halle and Hanau and the murder of Walter Lübcke, the debate on right-wing extremism has become an integral part of the public debate. Organizations and networks of the extreme right are ideologically coherent, strategically oriented and seek media impact.
The lecture offers a definitional and empirical approach to the phenomenon of the extreme right. It introduces key terms and provides an overview of ideological foundations and social causes. Current statistics show the spread of extreme right-wing attitudes and actors. Furthermore, the lecture offers an analysis of the forms of organization, fields of action and current developments within the spectrum. It shows counter-strategies for dealing with the extreme right and develops concrete options for action.
The lecture thus provides a comprehensive insight into the ideologies and structure of the extreme right and concludes with space for questions and discussion.
Free admission and a small breakfast.
