»Die kleine Hexe« - Szenisch-musikalisches Spektakel für Kinder ab fünf Jahren
In the organizer's words:
Being a good witch ... what does that mean? For the little witch, the question is easily answered: she uses her witch powers to put a smile on the faces of those around her - doing good, as you would expect of a good witch. But the witches' council sees things very differently, as the little witch painfully learns. Thus begins her persistent journey to stand up for what is good.
In this scenic-musical spectacle for children aged five and over, the Tonhalle brings the children's book classic to Düsseldorf districts and structurally weak areas to give children access to music. Under the artistic direction of theater maker Tina El-Fayoumy (theater SpielMarie), four jazz musicians tell the well-known story from "The Little Witch" by Otfried Preußler. The story is well-known, but the music is completely new: composer and percussionist Benjamin Garcia has set the story about friendship, helpfulness and belief in goodness to music specially for the ensemble. With an unusual combination of instruments - sousaphone, (bass) clarinet, electric piano and percussion - he breathes new musical life into the story.
