Tahsili examines the conspicuous absence of horror films made by Iranian filmmakers who identify as such. Inspired by Carol J. Clover's book "Men, Women, and Chain Saws" and Hélène Cixous' essay "Aller à la mer", Tahsili uses images and film sequences to show how ordinary scenes in Iranian films can be seen as horror moments. Tahsili emphasizes that the exoticizing depictions often overshadow alternative representations in the West, subtly decoding the complexities faced by filmmakers and female identifiers in the Iranian cinematic landscape.
