DOKU-Donnerstag: No Mercy – Machen Frauen die härteren Filme? (OmDU, Openair-Kino)
In the organizer's words:
AUT, DEU 2026, 90 min, Director/Artist: Isa Willinger
An energetic, wild journey through revolutionary filmmaking by women—direct, sensual, uncomfortable, and full of power. Films show how we live. “No Mercy” dives right into the burning questions of today: Where do we really stand when it comes to power, gender, and freedom—in cinema as well as in life?
For her radical assessment, filmmaker Isa Willinger brings together some of the most significant female directors* of our time: For the first time, pioneering female filmmakers*—including Céline Sciamma, Alice Diop, Joey Soloway, Nina Menkes, Valie Export, Catherine Breillat, and Virginie Despentes—engage in a shared, intimate dialogue about their art, their anger, their vulnerability, and the images that shape our world.
