EIGENTUM - (LET'S FACE IT WE'RE FUCKED)

Author Thomas Köck's new play begins with the discovery of a volcanic island in 1773 by James Cook and his expedition team - until they are all destroyed by the volcano's eruption. From there, the text jumps to the present day to an absurd house tour in which hundreds of prospective buyers meander through a potential property, inspecting the rooms along with the accompanying bunker. And finally, the author takes a look into a future about 2-3,000 years away, in which human couples give birth to cyborg children.

OWNERSHIP (LET'S FACE IT WE'RE FUCKED) is a collage-like outline of the right to rule in science fiction style. Starting with the discovery of the volcanic island and its destruction, the protagonists take a final look from space at what they thought they owned: The land, the resources, the people.
With this world premiere Marie Bues introduces herself to the Cologne audience, who has a long-lasting working relationship with the author Thomas Köck. Thomas Köck has received several awards for his theater texts, including the Mülheim Drama Prize in 2018 and 2019, and most recently the Audience Award of the Mülheim Theater Days NRW.
