A gas station on the outskirts of the city: A gas station attendant works endless day and night shifts. From his glass booth, surrounded by the smell of diesel and neon lights, he watches as life rushes past him. To kill time, he watches horror movies, plays checkers with his buddy—a former tennis pro—and philosophizes about his role as a dealer for a world that’s hooked on his gas pumps like a junkie on a needle. His routine is interrupted only by inspection rounds from his perpetually grumpy boss and by the appearance of his secret crush. When the gas tanks run dry due to a strike, the line between B-movie and reality blurs—and not just for the gas station attendant…

*Insights of a Gas Station Attendant* isa poetic, apocalyptic journal about the world of work in the (post-)modern industrial age and the loneliness of perpetual transit.
