In the organizer's words:

Public experience tour - Here we meet the mortar maker Martha in the year 1238, who tells the baker's maid Clara about her work on the building site of St. Mary's Church. We learn a lot about building and life at the time. How is our church built, how does it work on a building site in the Middle Ages? Where does the building material come from, who actually works on the building site? What does the building site mean for Gelnhausen and its citizens?
The building also reflects changes in the society of the time, which Martha and Clara also view very differently.
