Guided tour - Follow the ladies Richenza von Forstmeister and Elisabetha von Groitsch through Gelnhausen and the imperial palace at the end of the 12th century. Elisabetha traveled with her husband in Emperor Barbarossa's entourage to the Gelnhausen Imperial Diet in the Kinzig Valley.
Listen to the stories about the noble imperial couple Barbarossa and Beatrix, hear why the Gelnhausen Imperial Diet is still such an important date in the history of our country and why Duke Henry the Lion fell out of favor with the emperor. Don't be surprised if some of the town's buildings suddenly disappear during this walk through history.
