Escaping Bolivia

For 17-year-old Ida, her sister-in-law Michelle and her friend Cecilie, the end of their party vacation in Bolivia turns into a horror trip. As alleged cocaine smugglers, they are sentenced to life behind bars - in one of the poorest and most brutal women's prisons in the country. Even worse for the three young Norwegians and their families: the hoped-for help from the Norwegian Foreign Ministry fails to materialize, so that the strong bond between the three is soon put to the hardest of tests. After it soon becomes clear that each of them will have to fight for herself, a journalist from a men's magazine and an oddball mercenary become Ida's unexpected allies. With a daring escape plan, she risks everything and ultimately faces the crucial question of whether she can make it back home safely or whether the jungle will become her final prison. Based on true events, the six-part series tells a young-adult thriller set in Bolivia and Norway, a moving story about naivety and friendship, love and guilt.
