feeLit 2026: Tomer Gardi - Deliver
Moderation: Hannes Huß
Language: German
In his new novel "Liefern", Tomer Gardi looks at where our present is particularly visible - and where we often don't look.
Whether in Delhi, Tel Aviv, Buenos Aires, Istanbul or Berlin, they buzz through the cities everywhere: food delivery people. Tomer Gardi combines their stories into a contemporary epic that spans the globe. "Deliver" tells of racism and exploitation, of love, family and the great longing for connection. Tomer Gardi talks to us at feeLit. in Heidelberg about a world that is constantly on the move and about those who continually deliver to keep it going.
Tomer Gardi, born in 1974 in Kibbutz Dan in the Galilee, studied literature and education in Tel Aviv and Berlin. He writes in Hebrew and German and was awarded the Leipzig Book Fair Prize in 2022 for his novel "Eine runde Sache". His literature moves between languages, countries and realities. For his latest novel "Liefern", Tomer Gardi spent over three years researching in six cities.
"'Liefern' is a feverish, captivating contemporary novel - by an alert storyteller who sees people. Even those who just whizz by." Bergmann, NDR Kultur, February 16, 2026
"Tomer Gardi's gaze is neither voyeuristic nor socially romantic, his tone is sober, his language is simple and poetic, sometimes he sounds like Sally Rooney. He gives his protagonists dignity."
