From July 2 to 5, feeLit - International Literature Festival Heidelberg and its authors will be making a guest appearance at halle02 for the second time. Our festival venue is all about books and writing. This year, feeLit presents national and international literary stars and brings authors together with their audience.

Opening feeLit: Freedom - Winfried Kretschmann in conversation with Jagoda Marinic

A special opening that combines freedom, philosophy, politics and literature: Winfried Kretschmann is a Green politician, author and patron of Festival 2025.
This year his term of office as Minister President of Baden-Württemberg ended after 15 years. He was the first Green Minister President and the longest in office. The trained secondary school teacher for biology, chemistry and ethics was one of the co-founders of the Green Party in Baden-Württemberg and made history in the state with his political style.
Kretschmann talks to artistic director Jagoda Marinić about his book "The Meaning of Politics is Freedom", about Hannah Arendt and the question of why the political theorist can give us orientation and confidence in challenging times. Both have freedom as a central theme of their political thinking and so this opening event will also give this year's motto "Freedom Fries - In search of lost time" an exciting twist.
