Malicious image montages, digital smear campaigns, explicit threats of violence - what sounds like the dark fringes of the internet has become bitter everyday life for many women, especially in the (political) public sphere. In her new book Feindbild Frau, Ingrid Brodnig, journalist and expert on the digital public sphere and debate culture, analyzes how digital violence arises, how it is often fueled by right-wing networks and which opportunistic media mechanisms are behind the attacks. At phil.COLOGNE, she will meet Ricarda Lang, former federal chairwoman of Bündnis 90/ Die Grünen, and Kristina Lunz, author (including "The Future of Foreign Policy is Feminist") and activist, who have themselves been exposed to massive digital hostility for years and have taken a public stance against online hate.
