White grief.
Many people experience it - but hardly anyone knows the term.
White grief describes mourning for people who are still physically there, but who are changing more and more due to dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
This is exactly what we want to create space for on May 20.
On this evening, as part of our film series "Film & Talk: On Life and Death", we will be showing the moving documentary "The Infinite Memory" at the Odeon cinema in Cologne.
An incredibly touching film about love, memory and life together with Alzheimer's. Honest, close and full of tenderness.
Afterwards, we will talk together about white grief and what it means to lose a person piece by piece, even though they are still alive. Our guest is a grief counselor who runs a grief group for relatives of people with dementia.
Perhaps you know people for whom this evening could be important. Then tell them about it - and come yourself.
