He is a powerhouse, a daredevil, a lone wolf - the film follows bodybuilder Frank Meyer over a period of ten years: it is the portrait of a man who is retired but can't stop. His lifestyle is exemplary masculinity, but he has problems with closeness to other people and cannot allow hugs. He begins to come to terms with his masculinity and his violent childhood. But despite massive health problems such as a heart attack, kidney failure and a stroke, he continues to train and hopes for a comeback.
The film carefully and sensitively portrays a person who puts himself and his body on display for others, but shies away from human closeness, and who slowly but willingly opens up. "An impressive film that relentlessly reveals the pain behind every obsession." (Die Welt)
