Finissage I Selbstwirksamkeit – Du bewegst Deine Welt

Noch niemand hat sich das Event gemerkt.

In the organizer's words:

Wunderfitz
Wood, a needle and thread, some glue, a magnet

The individual elements of the installation are called Wunderfitz. This term, which originates from the Black Forest, refers to a curious person. Curiosity, an open-minded attitude, and the desire to get involved are meant to be reinforced through the experience of one’s own effectiveness. The Wunderfitz is maintenance-free, safe, silent, and cheerful.

The darning needle hangs with its tip pointing downward; the propeller attaches to it almost frictionlessly via a magnet embedded in the spindle. When placed over a heat source, the Wunderfitz spins merrily. It begins to spin even when placed over a cup of hot tea.
If you stand beneath a Wunderfitz and look up, you’ll see how the rising body heat makes it spin merrily.

Anyone can contribute just as effectively by purchasing a Wunderfitz and supporting the Vis-A-Vis project.

What is “VIS À VIS”?
“VIS À VIS” is the title of a long-term cultural and performative participatory project in which residents of two buildings meet, get to know one another, discuss topics, and embark together on a process of wishes, changes, and new ideas—learning from one another and, ideally, developing artistically together.

A path to cultural exchange within the neighborhood. The E-WERK and its “residents”—including independent artists from various genres, bewegungs.art e.V., and others—aim to open up significantly more as institutions in the future, particularly to people who face barriers to accessing culture and sociocultural activities.

How can we, as small or larger institutions, change in order to engage with our audience and understand different ways of life and cultural backgrounds? How can we make our own space welcoming in order to integrate cultural access and participation more deeply into the institution’s daily life?

E-WERK and Eschholzstraße 100.

Sponsors of Vis-a-Vis, with an additional 29 euros per participant: **A heartfelt thank you goes to Dr. Sally Abdelhamid of the Elegant Dent dental practice at Lederleplatz, who is supporting this project with a generous donation.
