HELLO AND TO SEE YOU AGAIN
Women crossing the borders of life
We were all born, we will all die. The cornerstones of our lives connect us, and yet they are pushed out of our social center. Photographer and author Annika Eliane Krause accompanied nine women during the birth of their children or in their own illness and dying.
dying. In front of the camera and in personal conversations, the protagonists consciously and self-determinedly prepare themselves for their personal border crossings.
The result is a book that brings together the transitions at the beginning and end of life in a touching way. The women's honest self-exposure breaks with social taboos and yet preserves the dignity of those portrayed at every moment. Based on the deep relationship of trust between the author and those portrayed, a multi-layered picture emerges of the female view of life and death.
