Frankfurt (Photo Dump) The Lesser Told Story

An evening that wanders off course, surprises, and reassembles the stages of a life: somewhere between a lecture performance, anecdotes, and personal confessions, artist, author, and performance artist Tim Etchells explores his own artistic practice through a chaotic collection of images from his personal archive, as well as from performance and other documentation. A speculative experiment drawn from lived experience in images, from work and writing, performance, artistic processes, and the spaces in between.

In parallel to his performance work (including with the renowned collective Forced Entertainment), Etchells has spent many years developing alternative ways to reflect on his practice through text and performative lectures. In doing so, he frequently combines fictional fragments, descriptions of artistic processes, and personal material. “Frankfurt (Photo Dump)” continues this exploration and, through a series of unexpected approaches, offers a multifaceted insight into Etchells’ work.
