White women helped to shape German colonialism from the very beginning. This is also the case in Cologne: the walk through the Südstadt shows traces of Cologne women who were involved in the colonial project and who must be regarded as colonial perpetrators. Among others, it is about women from colonized societies who came to Cologne. Their lives often played out on the fine line between resistance and adaptation. How does colonialism continue to have an impact today?
